What Personal Data We Collect and Why We Collect it
We may collect personally identifiable information, such as your email address, name, photo, biography, home or work address, or telephone number.
If you purchase products and/or services, we collect and store billing information such as your billing address and phone number. For your protection, we do not store credit card numbers. While you visit our site, we will track:
- Products you have viewed: we will use this to, for example, show you products you've recently viewed.
- Location, IP address and browser type: we'll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping

We collect a subscriber's email address, name, IP address, and time of signup for subscriptions to our Kenya Geographic Magazine. We use this information to verify the validity of the request and to send the requested updates to the subscriber. In each email communication from us, the subscriber is provided with a link to unsubscribe from the list instantly.
When you purchase from us, we will ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details, and optional account information like username and password. We will use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order.
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints.
- Process payments and prevent fraud.
- Set up your account for our store.
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes.
- Improve our store offerings.
- Send you occasional marketing messages by email. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, we provide you with a link in the message to instantaneously unsubscribe from further such messages.
If you set up an account, we will store your name, address, email, and phone number, which we will use to populate the checkout for future orders.

We collect information about you during the registration, enrollment, and checkout processes of our courses on our site. When you register an account with us, we will ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We will use this information for purposes, such as, to:

- Communicate with you about your enrolled courses and memberships.

Course and membership instructors can access your course progress and activities including:
- Enrollment dates for their courses and memberships

Information about your computer hardware and software also may be automatically collected by us. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring site addresses. We use this information to operate the Service, to maintain the quality of the Service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of this website.
Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through participation on this Service, this information may be collected and used by others.
We provide a Hotel Management Information System (HMIS) which provides our B2B and B2C customers with a platform to market their properties and book their accommodation tours, and safari car hires respectively. These customers open accounts they use to list properties (B2B) and book properties (B2C).
When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
We provide contact forms for various purposes and retain the information from them indefinitely. We utilise the information only for purposes consistent with the purpose of the form. For example, concerning our Contact Us form, the information is used to respond to your inquiry.

How Long we Retain your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This retention is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Information provided to Stripe, PayPal or PesaPal, as the case may be, includes information required to process or support the payment, such as the product or service purchase, date and time of the purchase, purchase total, and billing information.
We may offer store credit and/or gift certificates. If you are logged in, we access your billing email address saved in your account and billing email address entered during purchase. If you are not logged in, we collect your billing email address entered during purchase. We store any coupon code generated for you, any coupon code passed via URL, and any coupon amount, email, and message entered for a gift-card receiver. We store this data so that we can process it for you whenever required.
If you order a product from our travel store, it may be fulfilled directly from our headquarters from our inventory. If so, we will provide your shipping data to Seabourne Express Limited using its secure online website or to TNT Express worldwide Kenya using its secure website. We may also fulfil your order through our global distributor, DHL. If so, we will provide your shipping data to DHL using its secure website.
Data Breach Policies
For your protection, we do not store credit card numbers. If a breach of our site occurs, customer credit card numbers are simply not available to a hacker.
As also noted above, we do store other, less sensitive, user information. If we become aware of a breach, we will notify by email the impacted users promptly and no later than 24 hours following our learning of the breach. We will take all necessary and proper steps reasonably available to us to secure the site from further intrusion.

Children Under Eighteen
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of eighteen. If you are under the age of eighteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this site. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children have provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
